Blood and Water season 1 follows Puleng Khumalo, a sixteen-year-old, as she transfers to a prestigious high school to investigate the disappearance of her sister, who was abducted at birth 17 years prior. She suspects a top student, Fikile “Fiks” Bhele, might be her long-lost sister.

Puleng navigates the complexities of a new school, uncovers secrets about her family, and gets closer to Fiks while also facing a potential romance with a boy named Wade. The season culminates with Puleng’s father being arrested for human trafficking, and Puleng confronting Fiks about her possible identity.
