Umnisamvula follows Zanemvula, a blind young man rejected by his father at birth. He grows up isolated, but discovers he has a supernatural gift — he can summon rain. When a severe drought threatens his home village, the same people who shunned him come seeking help.

Zanemvula must face his painful past, especially his estranged father, to use his powers. In the end, he brings the long-awaited rain, symbolizing forgiveness, healing, and acceptance.
